Social Action: IALRW promotes equality for women and economic and social justice. It funds an ongoing literacy service project for women in India with the Mahabodi Society in Leh, Ladakh, offering training in literacy and vocational skills to enable disadvantaged women to become self-sufficient. Former projects: grants have been given to women in Mostar, Bosnia; Child Haven International and a development and educational initiative with women in Afghanistan. It promotes the inclusion of women’s roles in religion on the agenda of special events in the UN calendar and other national and international gatherings.

Conferences: IALRW organizes international conferences every three or four years and there are national and regional conferences in intervening years. The last three international conferences took place 2018 in Washington D.C. USA, 2014 in Birmingham UK and 2010 Centennial Conference in Kochi, India.
Interfaith Cooperation: As a member group of International Association for Religious Freedom (IARF), the IALRW participates fully in its activities and promotes consideration of women’s issues. IALRW has one seat in the IARF-Council, VP Rev. Dr. Esther R. Suter is their delegate.
